Yesterday, the Danish, American based group New Politics released their fourth album, Lost in Translation. The album, which has a different sound includes the singles One of Us and CIA.
This album is a good fourth album and has some songs that are both catchy and easy to listen to. The stand out tracks include the Piano melodic Colour Green which has a beautiful melody, the jolly song Madeline which has a hint of Come on Eileen about it and East Coast Thrilla which has a really interesting music backing track to it.
This album has a real old school vibe about it – there are many songs on here that when you listen you go “ooo that has a feel of Queen” (One of Us), “that has a retro musical essence about it” (Lifted) and “I wouldn’t be surprised if that was released in the early 2000s” (Istanbul).
Don’t let these musical influences put you off the album as it is a good listen. It’s a good solid return album and it is a great listen. Whilst it may be different to the other albums it is great full of very clever musical melodies and you should give the album a chance for the fantastic twist and turns it takes you on.
