Just like many of the actors that we have already written about on this feature, a lot of actors or actresses started their careers by working in stand up and the award winning comedian Emma Thompson is no different.

When she was just a young woman trying to get into the world of acting she started out as a stand up comedian. In many interviews she has discussed her stand up routine and what she remembers talking about in her sets.

In past interviews she has stated that her stand up routine could be classed as militant feminism as she wanted to do material about sexually transmitted diseases and all about men with bad hygiene.

From interviews it also becomes apparent that Emma Thompson was a natural on the stage and made many audiences laugh.
