Well, now John Egan is back with a vengeance and becoming a weekly feature on this site! When he is not performing comedy, John has a Youtube channel where he tries out all the new weird and wonderful food that America has on offer.

So in this brand new collaborative project we are going to delve into the facts and origins of the food and then will have a One Take Review by John. So, ladies and gentlemen welcome to the world of TASTE OF STATES.

Today we start with a cookie that is hugely popular that in the U.K. And the USA but in true American style, they have taken their classic biscuit and taken it to a different level – today we look at Jelly Donut Oreos.

In 2016, Walmart shopping store help a public vote, a very important one to biscuit lovers as it was to decide what will be an exclusive Oreo flavour for its shoppers. There was many options that voters could choose from – including caramel apple, cookies and creams and jelly donut. The winner of the vote was cookies and cream and became the winner of Supreme Cookie.

However, this year for National Donut Day (2nd June) the supermarket Walmart decided to release a limited edition Oreo flavoured as Jelly Donut! The manufacturers describe the cookie as “a golden Oreo cookie, with a raspberry centre and custard outta ring.”

Now something’s so exclusive needs to be reviewed, especially for ever their country who wasn’t able to try these new cookies! We may of only just made John part of the Phoenix team but luckily for us he was on the case and decided to review them! Watch his video below to see if jelly donut Oreo really was worth the year wait.
