Travel vs the Comedian – Travel Man: 48 Hours in…

The most recent trend in the travel show is to attach a comedian to it and there are so many – some serious, some spoofs, some that are the dynamics of an actual scripted comedy and others because they were one big practical joke! Travel Thursdays have just got bigger as we are now adding a comedic spin on it where we are looking at the comedian versus the travel. Today, we are looking at a show that came off the back of a show about Tech and expanded into the world of travel – Travel Man: 48 Hours in…

Travel Man launched in 2015 on Channel 4, the show is a documentary looking at different cities and is fronted by funny man Richard Ayoade. Mr Ayoade has always been a regular on the channel and won the laughter and hearts of people on the television show The IT Crowd as the unique character Moss. The show came off the back of the sister show, Gadget man, in this show Richard would try a number of different gadgets with a comedic sidekick each week. Travel Man follows a similar basis but instead of testing gadgets, Richard and his comedy friends travel to different tourist destinations.

The show has already had a whopping 5 series already as its so popular and has seen Richard go to cities such as Barcelona, Iceland, Paris, Vienna, and Berlin with a number of different comedians including Rob Beckett, Rhod Gilbert, Jack Dee, Katherine Ryan and Noel Fielding.

All of the episodes are available to watch on Channel 4 On Demand, but here are a few clips to wet your appetite.
