Hello John – Tell us a little bit about yourselves?

I am a Comedian based out of Green Bay, WI. I have been doing comedy since high school and been seriously focused on stand up for the past 6 years. Currently, I perform mostly around the Midwest.

How did you get into stand up?

I started in college around 2005 to 2007. There was almost no Wisconsin comedy scene at that point so I didn’t get back into it until 2011 again.

Tell us all about the show that you are bringing to the Milwaukee Comedy Festival? –Myself and just doing some dumb stand up before the crowd gets to see Michael Ian Black

What are your favorite things about performing to an audience and why?

I really enjoy improving when I can or when I am headlining. I have performed improv since high school as well and love interacting with people in the crowd. It has to be the right setting though.

What have been the highlights of the shows you have performed previously?

I have headlined the Skyline Comedy Cafe, where I first started, a few times now and it’s my favorite club in the country. At Skyline, I’ve also got to open for amazing Comedians like TJ Miller, Nikki Glazer, Kyle Kinane and many others.

What other comedians groups do you find inspiring and why?

It honestly changes from week to week, it’s a question I always have trouble answering ha.

Who else are you looking forward to seeing at Milwaukee Comedy Festival and Why?

There are new venues this year that I am excited to check out, and know each line up is different, so that is always good to see.

You have a Youtube series called One Shot Review – tell us a bit about it?

Oh sure. I wanted to do some kind of video series and know people have short attention spans, so I used my improv skills to promote it as a food review, but only one take and the whole food review in less than 4 minutes. It really should be more successful than it is haha.

You also do improv as well how did you get into that?

I got into that in high school, we had a show called “Kidz Writes”, where children wrote stories or poems and then a group of us performed them. It got me into comedy and still wish I was doing it.

What is the Improv scene like in Milwaukee and Green Bay? How could people get into it if they wanted to give it a try?

There are several troupes in Milwaukee, Green Bay and other areas of the state. I think the easiest thing to do is google one near you, start going to shows, talk to the owners, and sometimes an old fashioned e-mail or call will do the trick! It’s not hard, you just have to do it. You don’t have to get on stage right away, improv will teach you the funny, good improv people also are funny in their bones too.

And Finally – in three words, why should people come and see you at the Milwaukee Comedy Festival?

Just come laugh.
