Forgotten Pop! – This Week – Buffalo G

Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 19.42.05mily and was around in the year of 2000 and was trying to have huge success like her brother who was in Boyzone and her sisters that were in B*Witched. That’s right, this Friday, we are looking at the group Buffalo G.

The Irish Girl Group who were formed by Epic Records in 2000 consisted of Olive Tucker and Naomi Lynch and was a mixture of pop music and hip hop and they would rap and sing throughout their song. When I say song singular that is deliberate as the girls only released one single.

The single was called We’re Really Saying Something and it was a rap cover version of the Banarama cover of the 1964 original by the Velvetttes. The music video saw the girls doing flips and jumping around a haunted house. The single wsas released 29th May 2000 and reached number 13 in the Irish charts and number 17 in the UK top 40.

They didnt go on to do much in the music industry and there is very little written about them, however the sister of Shane Lynch went on to train and have a career as a fire dancer. So this afternoon lets reflect on their music by watching their only music video and  keep an eye out for Shane!
