Forgotten Pop at Christmas!-Cyndi Lauper, Christmas Conga

If you are looking for a Christmas song that is different then you should really listen to todays pick or the crop – Cyndi Lauper – Christmas Conga.

The song is the home of lyrics such as longa rhymed with conga and the line ‘Bonga, Bonga, Bonga, Do the Christmas Conga!” It also has a spoken word piece halfway through the song.

The song is off the album Merry Christmas…Have A Nice Life which was released in 1998 and was the first christmas album from Cyndi. Much of the vocal was recorded in Lauper’s cedar closet as it had a reverb that she liked. The album has sold 26,000 copies in the United States. The album made the charts in Japan at chart number 75.
