The Music Guide – 5 Seconds of Summer

Last week, I went to a 5 Seconds of Summer concert – i decided to go because a couple of their songs are really catchy and felt it was time to go to a live concert as haven’t been in a while. So to celebrate the fact that they were great live, I thought we should do a music focus on their back catalogue.

The band formed in 2011 in Sydney, Australia and became well known via youtube. They became international stars when they became the support act for One Direction on the Take Me Home tour in 2013.

The song ‘She Looks So Perfect’ was released in early 2014 and as a debut single reached the top of the charts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. The album which followed reached number 1 in 11 countries. They have said that their musical influences are McFly, Blink-182, All Time Low, Mayday Parade, Green Day, Boys Like Girls and Busted as their influences.
