It was announced last week that Rhod Gilbert is about to dip his toe in the world of sitcom comedy and is currently in the process of creating a show with Steve Coogan and Henry Normals production company Baby Cow.

The show is to be based around his fictional welsh hometown called Llanbobl which has been a long running joke in Rhods stand up shows.  The show is to be called Back to Llanbobl with a pilot episode expected to start shooting in autumn this year.

It has been written by Rhod and also co-written by his wife, fellow comedian Sian Harries. It is also to star fellow radio show co-presenter on BBC wales, Lloyd Langford.

It is not yet known which channel it will be broadcast on but have a look at a video that Rhod made for his 2008 Award winning show about the Mince Pie that was made to run alongside the show.
