What About Us – The Saturdays

Today we are going to take a look at a single that was released by a girl band 12 years ago. Do you remember the band The Saturdays? Well today we are going to head down memory lane.

What About Us was released by The Saturdays on the 18th December 2012. It was written by Camille Purcell, Ollie Jacobs and Phillip Jacobs and was released under the record labels of Fascination and Polydor. It was the second song to be released from the fourth album that was called Living For The Weekend which was released in 2013.

This single was the lead single for them to try and break America. Around the time this was released, the band were given their own reality show for the channel E! Network which was called ‘Chasing The Saturdays’. The band did a promotional tour around nightclubs and the US and they even appeared on chat shows such as The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

The single did reasonably well in the charts and went into the top 30 in Australia (14), Hungary (2), Ireland (6), Poland (2) and the US Hot Dance Club Charts (27). In the United Kingdom it went in at number 1 in the charts. It also became certified platinum and sold over 600,000 copies.
