When I Get You Alone – Thicke

Today we are looking at a single by Robin Thicke that was released well before Blurred Lines was a thing. Back in the era that we are talking about today he was known as a different name and even had very long hair!

On the 23rd September 2002, Thicke released the single When I Get You Alone. It was produced by the musician and released under the record label of Nu America and Interscope. It was from his debut album called Cherry Blue Skies.

The song may sound familiar for a number of reasons. Firstly because it samples Walter Murphy’s A Fifth of Beethoven. The song has also been used in films such as The Rules Of Attraction and Agent Cody Banks and television shows Entourage and Glee.

The song didn’t chart in the US or the United Kingdom but we will look at the countries that it did. The single went into the top 20 in Australia (11), Belgium (13), Hungary (13), Italy (15), The Netherlands (5) and New Zealand (8). The single became certified gold in Australia.
