Don’t Give Up – Chicane Feat. Bryan Adams
Today we are heading to the early noughties to look at a single that I completely forgot existed until I saw it on a music video channel. I was surprised I forgot about it as it was a great little dance track and it did really well in the charts and was always on the radio.
Don’t Give Up was released by Chicane on the 6th March 2000. It featured the vocals of Bryan Adams. It was produced by Chicane and Ray ‘Madman’ Hedges and released on the record label of Xtravaganza. It was from the second album of Chicane’s called Behind the Sun which was also released in 2000.
The collaborations came around after Bryan Adams used their remix version of Cloud Number 9. After that Chicane and Adams worked collaboratively on the single. Bryan Adams even wrote the melody and lyrics to this track.
The song did well in the charts and went into the top 10 in many countries including Australia (6), Greece (9), Ireland Dance Chart (2), Romania (8), and US Dance Club Charts (3) to name a few.
In the United Kingdom, it went to number 1 in the singles chart and number 2 in the UK dance chart. It became certified gold in the UK selling over 400,000 copies.
