Everyday this month we are looking at different songs from different films that I love and feel that they deserve their time to shine in the limelight. They are all bits of music that I love and I wanted to talk about them more in depth so that maybe you the reader can have similar experiences and understand why I like them.
Song From Soundtrack: Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me – U2
Film: Batman Forever
Year: 1995
The Batman films in the nineties were in a league of their own as they were so unique in their style. They may look silly now but they were great as they were more cartoon like. This is one of my favourites from this franchise, Batman Forever.
This song by U2 is really different for a soundtrack and it has a great sense of the flat notes throughout which create this atmospheric dramatic feel to the instrumental parts. It also sort of sounds like a bat flying as well if you think about it metaphorically.
It has a great set of lyrics and is just a fantastic track. It is also slightly different to U2’s other music which makes it stand out from the crowd.
