Ones To Watch 2026 – INTERVIEW – Xhloe and Natasha

All this month we are celebrating acts that you need to look out for in 2026. Today we speak to Xhloe And Natasha who have had a fantastic 2025 and set for a bigger new year.

Hello tell us all about yourself?

X: We are Xhloe and Natasha! A writing and performing clown duo based in New York City! We are best known for our absurdist plays based on historical archetypes of Americana and our success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival! Our style is clown physical theatre, using movement, fast pace, and playing on synchronicity!

How was 2025 for you?

N: 2025 was an amazing year for us! We performed in 6 different cities across 5 different countries including the UK, Canada, and South Korea!

X: It was a year of firsts, we made our Off-Broadway debut, it was our first time truly touring, and our first time returning to Edinburgh Fringe without a new show to premiere.

What was the top 3 highlights for you?

N: One has got to be winning the Fringe Encore Series at SoHo Playhouse. It was our Off-Broadway debut and meant so much to get to share our show with the city we love.

X: Another would definitely be Fringe. We brought all three of our previous years’ pieces to back to Edinburgh and they completely sold out. It was a crazy overwhelming month of sharing our work with the people whose support made our careers possible!

N: I think the other one has to be going to Korea. We had the chance to do one of our shows in Seoul for a month, so beyond getting to share our show with a new audience there, getting to know that city, in a culture so unlike our own, it was one of the most unique special experiences that we are so lucky to have gotten to do.

What was the key lesson you learnt from last year?

X: This year was a lot about learning our limits. We feel so lucky to be presented with so much opportunity right now, but we did a lot of just “saying yes” this year which led to a ton of fun but also a ton of overwhelm, and pushing our minds and bodies to their limits.

N: The shows are so physical, and the toll they take on our bodies can’t be overlooked. We were doing 2, sometimes 3 DIFFERENT plays a day at Fringe this year, and it came from wanting desperately for as many people to see us as possible, but looking back it was an important lesson in knowing our limits, knowing when to say no.

X: Knowing when the shows or the audience’s experience will suffer, that we have to say no, we’re not indestructible unfortunately.

What are your plans for 2026?

X: We’re definitely itching to write something new. Because we spent so much of last year touring, we didn’t have much of a chance to work on all the new exciting things we want to work on, so keep an eye out for something new.

N: We also are really excited into expanding into the comedy space this year, more than just the theatre world. We premiered a comedy hour in October we’ve been working on, it’s absurd, fast, and clowny, just like our plays, but leans further into the silly, into our true dynamic as people. We hope to keep developing and performing that!

What other shows are you looking forward to watching this year?

X: We get lots of messages on social media from people who tell us they are inspired by our work to create, and we love to be invited to those things when they come to fruition. We’re looking forward to seeing all those shows!

What styles do you hope to see more of in theatre this year?

N: Selfishly it’s a lot of what we do!

X: We’ve noticed the way a lot of theatre is leaning into clown and absurdism, looking forward to more of that! We always say that throughout history, absurdism is at its height during the periods of the most political and social unrest, we hope to see people channeling their energy into silliness.

What is your ones to watch in 2026 and why?

X: The Horgles are a puppeteer/ artist duo who are friends of ours and working on some really cool stuff this year. Like adult puppetry included, they’re innovating.

N: Gabe Mollica is also a pal of ours who is doing amazing things, he’s a comedian, writer, and storytelling with a new solo show, highly recommend checking him out.

Do you have any new years resolutions? If so what are they?

X: We’ve recently been into the mantra of “ask for what you want!” That spans from voicing our needs to each other as collaborators under a lot of stress to making sure to vocalize our goals when networking

N: Saying what you want is a powerful thing, like in the manifesting sense, but also you never know, when you ask for what you want you might just get it! We’re both working on that.

Are you on social media? If so how can people find out more about you?

X: Follow us @xhloeandnatasha on all platforms! We’re most active on Instagram and TikTok!

Three words why people should come and see you this year?

N: Clowns are coming!

Raw. Real. Inexpensive!
