It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. Today we have a look at the first ten of some of the best songs released this year.

1) NOT OK– 5 Seconds Of Summer

Near the end of 2025, 5 Seconds Of Summer released some brand new music as well as a brand new album with a different type of sound. This was the lead single from the album. The beat in the background with the mix of talking and singing is a new direction for the band but it works so well. It makes you want to get up and dance and enjoy the experience you are listening to.

2) The Fate Of Ophelia – Taylor Swift

You cannot talk about 2025 without mentioning Taylor Swift, at the end the of the year she returned with her next album with the catchy track The Fate of Ophelia. Like all of Taylor’s music it went viral with a dance routine to match as well.

3) Remember My Name – Sam Fender

It has been a huge year for Sam Fender, winning some huge awards to having some of the biggest singles of the year! People Watching the album has gone from strength to strength and this is one of the singles that was released in February the music video features “I, Daniel Blake” star Dave Johns, along with Philippa Blake and the Easington Colliery Band.

4) Cliche – Machine Gun Kelly

This year saw a big return from Machine Gun Kelly, kicking it off with a song that is really catchy and even showed the world his dancing skills. The dance routine went viral on social media and became a trend so that everyone could get involved.

5) There’s Always Gonna Be Something – Stereophonics

At the beginning of this year, the rockers Stereophonics returned to the music scene with a brand new single and a new album was released later in the year as well. The song apparently is about struggling to arrive at acceptance, it has a catchy chorus and it is a song that easily gets stuck in your head.

6) Survive – Lewis Capaldi

This year saw the fantastic return of Lewis Capaldi with a song that is both emotional and empowering at the same time. This track has some really powerful lyrics and really brought the musician back with a bang and a sold out tour.

7) Abracadabra – Lady Gaga

If there is one thing that is certain about 2025 is that it has been a Lady Gaga world and we have all been living in it. She returned with a fantastic new album, an amazing set at Coachella and even a guest appearance on the television show Wednesday. This was a song that went viral as everyone was spending their time recreating the music video dance.

8) Mature – Hilary Duff

In November of this year, Hilary Duff returned to the world of music after just over a decade of walking away. This song came from the sixth studio album which is out next year and if this song is anything to go by I think listeners are in for a treat.

9) Spike Island – Pulp

This year has seen the return of many bands that were really popular in the nineties, one of those acts that returned with a brand new album and a fantastic set at Glastonbury was non other than Pulp. Spike Island was the first track to be released off their brand new album and it went down a storm with fans.

10) Where’s My Husband – Raye

In September Raye released a song that has ended up becoming a viral sensation on social media websites such as Tik Tok. It is a song that has done incredibly well in the charts and went to number 1 in the UK singles chart and number 2 in the UK indies. It is a son with a really catchy chorus as well.
