Christmas Shows – INTERVIEW – That’ll Be Christmas

The festive period is here and there are so many shows that are available for audiences to go and watch! Over the next few weeks, we will be talking to lots of different shows and performers about what they have in store for this time of year! Today we find out all That’ll Be Christmas that is heading to 35 locations over November and December. Today we speak to Trevor Payne all about it.

Hello tell us a little bit about yourself!

I’m Trevor Payne the creator and a performer of That’ll Be The Day, the longest touring rock’n’roll show in the UK. This is a very exciting year for us as we are celebrating That’ll Be The Day’s 40th anniversary.

What is the show that you are bringing to the stage in this Festive season?

That’ll Be Christmas! It’s similar to That’ll Be The Day, but this special Christmas edition is infused with festive cheer and the nation’s favourite festive tunes. There will be plenty of comedic sketches and, as usual, we pay homage to the songs of the past and present that were hits around Christmastime.

Tell us all about your role in the show?

I will be joined by my wonderfully talented ensemble and we will be singing classic festive hits, including Winter Wonderland, Last Christmas and Merry Christmas Everybody. We are also sprinkling in some laugh-out-loud sketches to spread more joy this Christmas.

Will there be a bit of festivity in your show?

Yes, the show is entirely festive. We aim to lift spirits and leave our audiences firmly in the mood for the festive season. We’re excited to take this new edition of the show on the road and visit so many fantastic venues across the country – the whole team works hard to deliver the highest possible quality production and keep everything fresh for our wonderful audiences who return year after year. Christmas starts right here!

What are your favourite things about the festive season and why?

My favourite thing is that everyone seems to be in a better mood around Christmastime. It’s time to celebrate – and our show celebrates that. We hope That’ll Be Christmas brings the magic of Christmas to our audiences.

This time of year the venues tend to be a bit busier as well – do you find that the audience changes at all?

We have an incredibly loyal following of That’ll Be The Day – with some audience members having seen over 1000 of our shows over the years. For the Christmas show, we do attract new faces as well as the familiar, which brings a lovely atmosphere to the shows.

What is the best thing about a night at your show for the audience?

I want all who come to see That’ll Be The Day and That’ll Be Christmas to go home on a high, feeling better than when they came in. We give value for money and have a team on and off-stage delivering pound for pound the highest quality, leaving our fans wanting to see the next show.

As several critics and fans have said “There’s Nothing Like It”.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

Festive, Fun, Unmissable.
