All this month we are celebrating the world of the Boyband and that means that every day of November we are delving into a different song by a different band! Let’s celebrate the boyband, there were many of them in the noughties and nineties when I was growing up so let’s relook at some of the great ones out there!

Track: Freak Me
Artist: Another Level
Original Release Date: 1998
I was pretty young when this song came out but it was a track that was everywhere. I didn’t understand what ‘sexy’ or anything like that was as I was only around seven or eight but I understood that this song had a music vibe to it that was different and I suppose ‘naughty’.
Saying that, I would sing the chorus whenever the song came on, All these years later after a huge gap in listening to this song, I can’t believe how cringy and naughty the words actually are and I can’t believe that it was a song that a lot of my age when I was a kid was singing along to.
I always felt even as a kid that Another Level were not like Five, S Club 7 etc as they were more ‘mature’ sound and since R&B was huge in the noughties I believe that this was the target audiences they were trying to appeal to more then my age group.
