All this month we are celebrating the world of the Boyband and that means that every day of November we are delving into a different song by a different band! Let’s celebrate the boyband, there were many of them in the noughties and nineties when I was growing up so let’s relook at some of the great ones out there!

Track: Larger Than Life
Artist: Backstreet Boys
Original Release Date: 1999
Backstreet Boys are a boyband that I have been listening to since I was a child. I have seen them live twice and both times they were truly amazing and put on an amazing show. Even this year at the Vegas Sphere you can see that the dance routines and the performances are still incredibly strong.
It meant that whilst they were a great band to start the month off with, it also meant that it was difficult to chose a song to write about. I ended up choosing this track because it really is a fantastic song.
This is a Backstreet Boys song that only sounds great when you play it loudly through headphones. Larger Than Life has some great lyrics, a really catchy chorus and it just makes you want to get up and dance.
I remember when I was a kid, there was a lot of press about the music video as it had been one of the most expensive ones to create as it had a lot of computer graphics and a space theme – which was very nineties.
I love this song because it is pure boyband genius – it makes you want to sing, dance and instantly puts you in a good mood. You can’t help but love it and that is what good boybands are meant to do – make you happy and escape life and enjoy.
