There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
My favourite thing to take a photograph of is water. No matter how many times you take photographs of it, you will always get something unique and different everytime. If there is one place that is a fantastic location for taking pictures of water is Norway.
Today’s photograph was taken in Geiranger – a place where there is a lot of opportunities to take photos of water. It was great and I adored the roughness of them as there was always waterfalls nearby as well as it being a place that is incredibly hilly.
This photograph I adore because it shows how rugged the water can be in this area. The water is predominantly white which means that it can connote the fact that even though it is a picture it is drama.
I find the dark parts of this photo inspiring such as how dark the rocks are in the water and the way that the leaves are really green and rich feeling. It creates this interesting perspective of the branches and gives power to the depth of the rocks.
Also one thing that you may not notice originally is that I have added a slight lens blur to the photo so that you really focus on the power of the water.
I feel that this is a photograph that really highlights just how great Geiranger and Norway can be.
