The Travel Book – Travel Through A Photo – Cloud Gate, Chicago, USA

There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

Chicago is a fascinating place – the thing that I loved about it was the mix of old and new buildings and the modern architecture. One of the best things in Chicago is Cloud Gate, also known as the Coffee Bean. Usually when you see photographs of this structure it is from afar but one thing you do not see very often is underneath.

This photograph was taken beneath the Bean and I absolutely adore it. They thing I like about this photograph is you can see something different every time you look at it. For a mirrored statue it means that it creates these unique angles and visions.

The perspective of this photo means that there is a lot of depth – this is what makes it feel really eerie. It sort of manipulates the location of the people and the floor into different plaices sort of like a work of art.

It is a really interesting photo that you can get lost in for ages.
