Welcome back to Podcast Episodes That Changed My Life! Every other week we will discuss a different show and episode!
I have always been a huge fan of podcasts, I have listened to podcasts as far back at 2008 I think it was although I never really listened to them until a few years later. My first real introduction to the world of podcasts was when I was in my last year of university and had to spend hours in the classroom with two of my friends working on our coursework into the very early hours of the morning. It would just be the three of us, myself, Matt and Tom and whilst we were working, the podcasts of The Ricky Gervais show was blasting out into the room. It was in the moment I realised that podcasts can create so much comedy and can really sort of act like a ‘best friend.’ It also sort of created a special bonding moment between the three of us and I am still very much close friends with them today.Over the years, I have learnt that podcasts can really be so much more then the ‘laugh’ and whilst I do listen to a lot of podcasts to help get me through the tough days, the good days and the times I have to work through the night, I also have found that it can be so much more.
Over the years, the idea of what a podcast is has obviously developed, especially with the pandemic and so many more have arisen and so much more content is now available and in a saturated market it can be hard to find really good shows. I have learnt that sometimes episodes of certain podcasts can really have an effect and over time I have shown my appreciation for these episodes on my social media channels.
I have previously spoken about the podcast episode that inspired me to start writing this feature, and you can read more about it here. This week we are talking about a podcast that is such a great conversation.
Podcast Episodes That Changed My Life –
Episode: Episode 333 -Tom Delonge
Podcast: One Life One Chance
For those who have been reading this website for a long time will know that I am a huge fan of Tom Delonge. I have always been inspired by his creativity, especially when he stepped away from Blink-182 and started AVA. I have always been a fan of his songwriting and his ability to find new directions for his creativity and ideas.
I really recommend a listen as it is raw, informative and if you are a creative – it will be something you may find insightful and to never give up.
This year, Tom Delonge appeared on the One Life One Chance with Toby Morse podcast (which we have spoken about before about a different episode). I wanted to talk about this episode as it is a great one. Whenever you have an interview with a musician, the normal media it predictable and always asks questions which you predict and have heard so many times before. Toby Morse isn’t like that. It is more of an in depth conversation amongst friends and it is what makes it special.
I have listened, read and watched many interviews with Tom Delonge over the years and this is the best interview I have ever heard. It is so natural, so pure and really interesting. It goes behind the scenes of all the bands he has been a part of all of the creative process behind the music. It feels really normal and also enjoyable. It is a two and a half hour interview that really gives inspiration.
I have listened, read and watched many interviews with Tom Delonge over the years and this is the best interview I have ever heard.
One thig that I adore about the interview is that even Tom get’s fed up of All The Small Things being the ‘song’ that people know Blink-182 for. It is my least favourite song and it feels like a clarification for me as to how I feel about it.
The conversation is a really interesting episode and I really recommend a listen as it is raw, informative and if you are a creative – it will be something you may find insightful and to never give up.
Thank you again for all your support in reading and engaging with the website.
