Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Jamie James

Tell Us About:

Your latest single you have released:

There have been two singles off of this album so far, the first being “Let The Praying Begin” and the second, “Show Biz Boogie”.

“Show Biz Boogie” is basically about a never ending love or passion for being a working guitar player (or musician) that’s like second nature.

Your favourite lyric in this song:

My fav lyric in “Show Biz Boogie” is; “you light that fire, you’re gonna go far, and then disappear like a shooting star”.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

My fav song I have written on this album is “Septuagenarian Blues”.

Your favourite song to play live:

My fav to play live is all ten tracks off the album.

The song that was the longest to write and why?

I don’t keep track of “how long it takes” to write a song.

Your most emotional track:

The most emotional track off of “Straight UP” for me would be “Keep On Rockin’ “ because it’s about pushing through the most challenging and difficult times in one’s life.

Dream collaboration:

My dream collaboration would be anything with Jimi Hendrix or John Lennon or Antonio Carlos Jubim.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

The feeling I get when I walk on stage is a thrill beyond words.

The hardest track to play live:

None of these tracks are hard to play live. I don’t write songs that are hard to play.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

The essential items for me are: a guitar, an amp and a harmonica.

Describe your fans in three words:

How would I describe my fans in three words? “Where are you?”

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

I wish I had written “A Hard Day’s Night” by The Beatles or “Get Off OF My Cloud” by The Rolling Stones”

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

This year we’re going to Keep On Rockin’ !
