REVIEW – Comedy At The Fringe – Liz Guterbock: Nice

Liz Guterbock’s show is all about being an American living in the United Kingdom, adapting to the lifestyle and most importantly the skills that you learn from going to drama school over here.

The show delves into a variety of topics including clowning, relationships, returning to LA and the worry of losing her American identity whilst living over seas.

A fun little hour of stand up, there are a few jokes that do not land as well as they could which means they do not get the response they deserve from the audience. The way that the show delves into the way that AI threatening her job role is a really relevant theme in the show that a lot can relate to.

Throughout the show there are a lot of Trump jokes scattered throughout which whilst they are relevant, with a predominantly UK audience not all the jokes get the reaction they deserve as some may not be aware of everything that is happening politically. The more the show goes on the more the political jokes are scattered through and it gets a little bit repetitive at times.

Whilst the show has some fun parts, it sadly falls a little flat at times and it feels a bit predictable at times. Expect some parts that are enjoyable but you will walk away feeling like it was missing something.

RATING: *** 3 Stars
