How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?

It was easy, people need to know if they are coming that some people are going to be hypnotised and that it’s going to be funny. So it has to have the word hypnosis in it (hypno)and it has to have the word comedy in it. Lastly, I want to attract people who remember raving and who this might appeal to. Most people have never been to a hypnosis show before so you have to let them know what it is.

Tell us a little bit about your style of show?

It’s a hypnosis show, where volunteers go into a trance and do some funny things that you’d expect in a hypnosis show like get their hands stuck together and explore consciousness.  But this show will be totally original and is also a nod to the 90’s rave scene – Sumer of love, so people will be transported to a club or rave in the 1990’s. explore their consciousness.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Looking forward to seeing Sara louise Aston wants to be famous because I’ve seen clips of her standup which are brilliant. Also excited to watch the celebrated “Rat pack stand up comedy” shows. Another show I’m looking forward to seeing is  “Prostituting pigeons”. Sounds intriguing and love the art work.

How are rehearsals going?

Only just started them. So only mildly panicked. But so far so good.

What is the best thing about performing at the Camden fringe?

This will be my first so I’m hoping it will be the fun and open minded, culturally diverse people who come to the show. That’s what’s appealed to me about it. Camden is also where I went to secondary school and ran a comedy club at Camden’s The Lock Tavern and also where I went to my first rave at Camden Palace.

London can be an expensive place to perform in – what key advice would you give to performers that is a sort of life hack?

This is my first experience performing at Camden so I’m not expert in this area. But if you’re coming from abroad, by food from the supermarkets and fix any taxi price before.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Amy Winehouse. I know she’d have a great time, she’d appreciate being brought back from the dead. She was an excellent raver and when I ask her to sing like Amy Winehouse she’ll sound amazing. Also it would be easy for her to get home.

The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?

I’d call it sgraffito because of the pottery term (which it’s inspired by) which means to scratch beneath the surface which is often what we do in the arts and because the term  ‘Sgraffito’  ‘sounds like graffiti and the pigeon looks urban and resembles graffiti
