Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025

Taste Of Edinburgh – This Week – Rose Street Brewery

One thing I get a lot of at this time of year through the Edinburgh Fringe Interviews is food recommendations from acts. I specifically ask the question so that readers have a vast knowledge of areas they could potentially visit when they are at the festival and may not know about.

I have been to Fringe quite a few times and I have been to Edinburgh a lot as well, so I thought over July I would give you a few recommendations of my own that you may want to visit over the Fringe season.

ROSE STREET BREWARY

Today I am going to talk about a location that I ended up discovering by accident. I was stuck in Edinburgh one night – away from the Fringe season – and needed something to eat and stumbled across this place. I am so glad that I did as the food was really tasty. If you are looking for something a bit different then this may be a place for you.

Rose Street Brewery is located on Rose Street, about a five minute or so walk from Edinburgh Waverly Station It is open daily from midday. It is part of the Nicholson’s pub group but I wanted to mention it as the food is really good.

The location is known for it’s pies and have lots of options from British Steak and Ale to Chicken and Mushroom. They do have other food on offer such as burgers, fish and chips and Balmoral Chicken to name a few.If you are a fan of beer they also have a variety of craft beers, ciders and ales.

Now I will be honest, it is a pricy place similar to London but Edinburgh can effect the prices due to it being the capital. However, there may be a time at the Fringe when you want a bit of comfort food and luxury to get away from the hustle and bustle.
