Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025

Travel Book – FRINGE TRAVEL EDITION – Elie And Earlsferry

When you are at the Fringe there may be a day or so when you want a break away from the main area of Edinburgh. So over July, we are going to look at areas you could potentially visit from the city for a mini day trip. Each can be either a full day or a half and I have been to all of them so thought it would be find to share this month.

ELIE AND EARLSFERRY

Today’s trip is a longer journey then last weeks bur if you want to walk along the coast that is pretty, relaxing and enjoyable then you may want to take this trip to go on.

Elie and Earlsferry is located on the Fife coastline and it is about an hour and twenty minutes drive from central Edinburgh. If you are travelling on public transport you can get there via the train and then a bus ride from Leven. You will have to look at the timetables to plan your route as each day it varies.

Elie and Earlsferry is a popular holiday hotspot due to the beaches and water sports on offer. It is a place that has a lot of history and was once a Royal Burgh. It is also a location that is known for it’s golf.

So why would you want to visit?

The beaches are beautiful, it is a wonderful place to go for a walk, get some fresh air and have a lovely pub lunch. The Fife Coastline is a wonderful place to visit and I felt this was a great place to mention as it is not the norm and it is a great escape from the city!
