Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hello! I’m Tamsyn, I’m a comedian, writer and actor from Penzance in Cornwall but I live in Glasgow now- no I’m not ok.

Tell us all about your show!

I moved from one of the most beautiful places on this earth to Glasgow to be with a guy I’d been long distance with for 4 months. Moving to a city where you know no one in your 30s is one of the most anxiety-inducing changes you can make to your life.

I’m a chronic flip-flopper, so I went to see a psychic to see if I’d made a mistake moving 600 miles to be with this guy and she told me ‘your boyfriend is very cagey and secretive isn’t he?’. This show is about me learning to stick with my choices and make the best of it, instead of spiralling and binning everything.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Josie Long, Stuart McPherson, Liam Withnail, Chris MacAuthur Boyd, Alison Spittle, Marc Jennings, Stephen Buchanan, Bella Hull, Katie Norris.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

I’ve done it before- for the love of God find normal comics (nice oxymoron) to hang out with, who aren’t there for the social climbing and aren’t neurotic about reviews. We’ve paid too much money not to have fun. Also fall in love and move to Scotland if you can, it’s a laugh.

Talk us through your daily routine for a day at the Fringe.

If I’m lucky it’s get up, walk the dog, try to feel normal. I’m staying with nice folk who are good to chat to. Lots of chats are nice, we’re all going through the same thing.

Ok, where is your favourite place to eat at the Fringe?

In bed.

Best thing about performing at the fringe?

Seeing your pals’ great shows, knowing that lots of them are among the best out there right now, that’s exciting.

What is the hardest part about performing at the Fringe?

Ignoring the b******** getting reviews you don’t like, and seeing a friend have a hard time.

Do you bring anything special from home to make it feel more special whilst you are away?

My dog but I guess leaving her would be pretty bad. For some reason her presence always feels special. She’s a dog queen.

What are your best hacks to save money whilst at the Fringe?

Easier said than done, but try not to drink too much. Or if you must, only drink where you can have tesco cans or where you get a discount. Or not at all.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Exercise shoes. If you can manage to get out and do any form of exercise it will make you feel ten times better. Running down the canal is always a good shout – I don’t want people seeing me running through the Meadows. We don’t need that. Having a wash basket is always nice and makes you feel a bit more together. A nice candle. Mad choices. I’ve never taken a wash basket or a candle but I genuinely will this year.

what’s the secret to successful flyering?

Swap with a friend, fyler each other’s shows. That way it won’t feel cringe.

If people want to find out more about you where can they follow you on social media?

@tamsynkelly Mostly insta but more on Vinted.

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?
