Welcome to a feature where we sit down and talk to bands and artists about their latest albums to find out all about it. Today we speak to Anders L. Rasmussen about their latest album 10 Years From Now.
Hello nice to meet you, tell us about yourself!
My name is Anders L. Rasmussen and I am just about to take on a new journey exploring the life of a solo artist playing music that differ quite a bit from the hard rock stuff I am more used to.
Tell us about the new album
The new album will come out before the summer, hopefully. It’s in the mixing process as we speak. 10-11 original tracks, some old ones I have had in the archive for ages, and some new ones written the past year. This will be my debut album as a solo artist!
Favourite track in new album and why?
That one is hard to answer. All tracks are equally good. Tomorrow it will another one, but today I’ll say ‘Everyday Hero’. A nice little song with a good groove to it. Lyrics are about all the good people out there working their asses of trying to make other people feel good about themselves, making them shine, staying protected, etc. The everyday heroes out there!
Tell us a bit about the recording process, was it fun to do?
Yes it was! I spend much of the time alone just having the best of times getting the songs on tape. My studio is my sacred playground!
What one of your songs on the new album do you think will the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?
Hmm. There’s a blues number on the record titled, ‘A Goddamn Thing’ that I think will be difficult to deal with in a live setting. You just got to have the right musicians to do that justice. The drummer on the album lives in the UK, a session drummer, so that would be a problem on many levels.
Why should people listen to the album?
Because it’s a damn good album! There is Americana in there, some bluesy stuff, a little bit country and there is rock and roll. Everything mixed together into a great album with a cohesive theme
