Taste Of States – This Week – Lays Crunch Tators

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

LAYS CRUNCH TATORS

Today we are going down the snack aisle to take a look at a product that was discontinued in the nineties and it was brought back last year.

At the end of last year, it was announced that Lays were bringing back Crunch Tators back to the market. Apparently they were a crisp that first gained popularity as they appeared in the Home Alone film. After that showing in the film they became incredibly popular and ‘iconic’.

To celebrate the return of the crisp they launched original, BBQ, Mighty Mesquite and Hoppin’ Jalapeno. They were available for a limited time from Dollar General Stores.

From the reviews I have seen online they were welcomed very positively.
