It is our birthday month so to celebrate I thought it would be fun to write a couple of articles to take you behind the scenes of the The Phoenix Remix. In this article I am going to tell you a few things that you may not even know about the website that may be interesting to discover.
I have interviewed nearly 1,000 improv acts
Yes that is right, in the ten years that I have been writing this website I have nearly interviewed 1,000 improv acts from around the world. Someone once said to me that my website is sort of like an archive and a history of the improv acts that are around now and ones that were there before which I never thought of before and that is pretty fascinating to think. A record of improv history – that is pretty cool.
I have Next Up Comedy to thank
Before NextUp Comedy was a thing, the founders had a different venture which I used to edit for in 2013. I used to edit stand up comedy shows and interviews with comedians into promo videos. Doing this pushed my love for comedy and improv. It is thanks to Sarah, Dan and Kenny that I kept delving into this world of comedy and pushed that passion.
I have used the same planner for 6 years
In 2018, I started to write a lot more and started to keep track of it all. So I found this lovely faux leather book and since then it has been a book that I heavily rely on. It helps me plan articles, plan a schedule and keeps track of all the interviews I do or plan to do.
Thank you again for all your support in reading and engaging with the website.
If you want to help support the website then you can! You can buy Holly a cup of tea (and a biscuit!)
