Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to musician Cruel Miracle who have recently released the album Steadfast and the music video for Stone. Today I ask them some tough questions.
What is the hardest lyric you have ever had to write and why?
The majority of our recent album Steadfast was a challenge, because it was not only the first time writing lyrics with our current lineup, but it was bassist and vocalist CB’s first time writing lyrics in English, and he really spearheaded the entire process. “Stone,” which we just released a DIY video for, was the most difficult as it was the first song we wrote together, and it set the tone for the rest of the album.
What is the weirdest gift or compliment a fan has given you?
We were flashed by a longtime fan during our set at the Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, Massachusetts. That was quite the compliment.
Who is the best band or musician you have had the pleasure to share the stage with?
That’s a difficult question and it is hard to pick one. We have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Korn members Jonathan Davis and Ray Luzier, Sebastian Bach, and Argentine rock legends Rata Blanca, those are some of the most impactful acts we’ve worked with.
What one of your songs has been the most difficult to rehearse for a live audience?
CB, bass and vocals: “Sting Me,” this one has the biggest vocal range.
Joe Cook, drums: “Human Beings”, the backup vocals combined with the drum parts are tricky.
Doug Hendler, guitar: “Crash and Learn”, the guitar parts are so noodly!
Aaronski, keyboards: “Leave me Alone”, the keys never take a break and there are tons of fast slides.
Dream Collaboration and why ?
Josh Homme and Queens of the Stone Age are a big inspiration for all of us
