Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at a book about a trial and a murder of a police officer….
The Trial (2024)
Rob Rinder
Synopsis
One murder. One Impossible case. Who is to blame?
When hero policeman Grant Cliveden dies from a poisoning in the Old Bailey, it threatens to shake the country to its core.
The evidence points to one man. Jimmy Knight has been convicted of multiple offences before and defending him will be no easy task. Not least because this is trainee barrister Adam Green’s first case.
But it will quickly become clear that Jimmy Knight is not the only person in Cliveden’s past with an axe to grind.
The only thing that’s certain is that this is a trial which will push Adam – and the justice system itself – to the limit. . .
– from Waterstones
Positive Points
This is a really energetic read and it is a book that is a page turner and one that you want to keep on reading. The book goes really into depth whilst also being really enjoyable.
Negative Points
When you first read this book it can be hard to get into but keep with it and after the first couple of chapters you will get into it.
Overall Review
I found this a really good read, it was a book that kept me wanting to keep turning the pages. It takes a while to get going but keep with it as it is a good book.
