There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.

If there is one place I enjoyed living then it was Bournemouth. One of the reasons I adored living there was the beach and the sea – it was one of my happy places. The coast changes so much that you go down there at any time of the day or season and you will always see something unique or different every time.
This has been taken when the sun was starting to set. I adore taking photographs of sunrises and sunsets as each one is different and every single one tells a different story. I can’t remember what time of the year it was but I think it was summer.
The thing I really like about this photograph is the way the sun reflects on the sand. It creates a really interesting glow that drags you into the photograph. I also really adore the light behind the pier as well.
I find the colours in a picture can really create a mood and I love the oranges and the golden colours that create a sense of warmth and optimism.
