Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
CHEETOS MAC AND CHEESE
Today we are going down the grocery store aisle to a section you may not think of writing when I tell you the brand. I always thought Cheetos only did crisp but apparently they also reached out and created a different sort of snack as well and today we are looking at it.
In 2020, the brand Cheetos (owned by Frito-Lay) decided to introduce a brand new product mac and cheese.
There was three different versions of the product released – Bold and Cheesy, Flamin’ Hot and Cheesy Jalapeno. The pasta in the mac and cheese is curly sort of like fusilli, the shape was apparently inspired by the mascots tail.
Each of the mac and cheese flavours are made to taste authentic and really cheesy like Cheetos. The product could be purchased as either a single box or a smaller version as a cup from various retail shops.
There are mixed reviews online – some state that they are tasty and taste of the Cheetos flavour and others say that the taste is awful.
