Taste Of States – This Week – Vanilla Yoo-Hoo

Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

VANILLA YOO-HOO

Today we are going back to 2019 to look at a new variety of Yoo-Hoo that I thought would be fun to talk about this week. Yoo-Hoo is an American drink that is known for being chocolate flavour. It was founded in 1928 by Natale Olivieri.

Near the end of 2019, Yoo-Hoo released a brand new flavour of the drink – Vanilla. There is a logo of an ice cream cone on the front which to me feels like they were trying to connote that it may taste like that flavour.

The drink contains many ingredients including water, whey, non fat dry milk, corn syrup, calcium and much more. Each drink is 6.5 fl oz and contains 100 calories. Apparently it is rich in calcium and Vitamin D.

There are mixed reviews of the Vanilla version of Yoo-Hoo. Some like it and others do not, however some state that the drink flavour does grow on you after a while.
