What is your Favourite:

Song you have written:

Our latest single is “Demons.” It dropped on November 8, 2024, and it’s probably one of the most personal things Greg, Erick and I have ever put out there. For me, it’s about staring down my brain tumor and the fallout of divorce, but we wanted it to be universal. Everyone’s got their own demons, right? It’s a reminder that you’re not alone in that fight.

Lyric:

Oh, easy— “I’m a fire-breathing cosmic hero.” That line is my middle finger to everything that tried to break me. After surgery, when I thought I might lose my sight, I needed a declaration of power, and that’s it.

Musician:

John Bonham. The man revolutionized drumming and brought a primal energy to Led Zeppelin that still blows my mind.

Film or television show:

Breaking Bad. It’s all about flawed characters, consequences, and redemption—themes I’m drawn to in life and in music.

Venue to perform at:

Festivals! The energy rivals nothing!

Item to take with you on tour:

Coffee. Lots of coffee. I’m a caffeine junkie on the road. Oh, and my notebook for jotting down ideas when inspiration strikes.

Instrument:

Drums are my first love, but my Godin Session HT guitar  is a close second. It’s become an extension of me lately.

Song to play live:

“Mexico.” The vibe is electric, and it transports me every single time.

Memory of tour:

Surviving the Coquihalla Highway during a blizzard with a motorhome full of gear. Terrifying at the time, but looking back, it’s a story I’ll be telling for years.

Era for music:

The ’70s. It was raw, experimental, and full of groundbreaking artists who weren’t afraid to push boundaries. I feel like we are on the edge of something now too… So, today’s era is exciting too

Part of making a record:

The moment when the rough ideas come together, and you realize, “Yeah, this is it. This is the song.” It’s magic every time.

Thing about performing at festivals:

The energy. There’s nothing like a festival crowd—it’s pure, unfiltered chaos in the best way. Lekker!

Thing about the music industry at the moment:

The way streaming platforms let us reach fans around the world. It’s never been easier to connect with people through music.

Thing about this year so far?

Dropping “Demons” and seeing the response. It’s been incredible to hear how much it’s resonated with people and to watch it climb the charts.
