There is always a story behind a photograph and I thought it would be a fun way to look at the world of travel. So, welcome to the feature that will appear regularly in the travel section.
The internal part of churches and cathedrals can be truly breathtaking as the architecture can be amazing. I am not a religious person but I love some of the details you can see inside such interesting buildings.
In Lyon, high above on a hill there is a place called Basilica of Notre Dame of Fourvière. This is where today’s photograph was taken.
I remember the feeling of walking into this building. It is grand, it is intimidating, dark and also bright and bold at the same time. It created a sense of eeriness but amazingness to it.
I like this photograph as I feel it connotes all the feelings mentioned above. I adore the very interesting shimmer that the gold creates through the photo and highlights the bold green in the ceiling.
I feel this photograph due to the style of it – it creates a feeling and a memory that a good photograph should do.
