All this month we are speaking to comedian Alex Kealy. After a successful run at Edinburgh Fringe last year, Alex has been very busy, going on tour as support for Jack Dee, going on his own tour this year and even co-hosting the podcast Gig Pigs with Ivo Graham. All this month we are going behind the scenes of life on the road! To end our month of interviews, we finish with a traditional quick fire round…
An album you could listen to repeat for hours?
Darkness on the Edge of Town by Bruce Springsteen. Frenetic opening, some huge bangers, but some incredibly wistful keyboard-led tracks in the middle – it was my regular running album during the pandemic and has stuck with me.
Favourite breakfast food
Enough encona hot sauce to cause me to perspire profusely.
Dream location to travel to?
New Zealand seems kind of amazing but perhaps I’ve been tricked by the Tolkien-industrial complex.
Favourite piece of art?
The print of David Inshaw’s “She Did Not Turn” above my bed.
A film that is your guilty pleasure
Tenet – possibly Christopher Nolan’s worst film but it just please a monkey part of my brain and has some incredibly cool sequences and a unique reversible soundtrack.
Favourite cartoon character
Marge Simpson. She’s holding that family together, man. Let her have her little gambling addiction in peace.
Three words to describe yourself!
Gangly people pleaser
