Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
INDIAN TACO
Today we are heading to a Fair to look at a snack food that sounds really interesting and from the reviews I have seen about it, the snack was incredibly popular amongst the visitors of the event in Oklahoma. Today we are looking at an Indian Taco that B&G Concessions brought to the fair.
From an interview I watched with the founders, the owner’s parents were part Cherokee and the recipe was handed down through the generations. In the Indian Taco that B&G Concession serve, the base is made of flour, powdered milk, flour salt, corn meal, milk for the dough. The taco batter is made into a dough and then it is deep fried. Once the taco is fried it is then topped with chilli, beans, beef tomatoes, pimento beans salsa and onions.
I have seen reviews of this snack stating that the Indian Taco is really tasty.
