INTERVIEW -A Quick Conversation with: Exxasens

Welcome the feature where we ask musicians or bands five really tough questions about music! Today I speak to Jordi Ruiz from the band Exxasens, They have recently released Infinitum in the past few months.

What is your Favourite:

Song you have written:

Your dreams are my dreams – it’s a song that has connected deeply with our fans and represents the essence of EXXASENS.

Lyric:

As an instrumental band, we don’t have lyrics, but every note we write carries its own story and meaning.

Musician:

David Gilmour – his ability to express emotion through his guitar is unmatched.

Film or television show

Interstellar – its visuals and soundtrack perfectly capture the vastness and emotion of space, much like what inspires our music.

Venue to perform at:

Dunk!Festival – the energy and community there are incredible.

Item to take with you on tour:

A good pair of headphones—for those long travel moments when you need to disconnect or find inspiration.

Instrument:

The guitar—it’s the cornerstone of our sound and creativity.

Song to play live:

Black Hole – it’s powerful, dynamic, and always gets an amazing reaction from the audience.

Album by another musician:

Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd—a timeless masterpiece.

Memory of tour:

Our first time playing in Russia. The connection with the crowd was unbelievable, and it was amazing to see how far our music had travelled.

Era for music:

The late 70s—when progressive rock, space rock, and experimental music were thriving.

Part of making a record:

Hearing all the individual layers come together for the first time—it’s like watching a puzzle piece itself into something bigger.

Thing about performing at festivals:

The shared energy between the band and the audience—it’s always electric and unforgettable.

The growing support for independent artists and the DIY philosophy—it’s challenging, but it gives us so much creative freedom.
