Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 28 – Frankie and Mike,

The Middle

There are so many people I could talk about when it comes to The Middle but since it is such an underrated show in the United Kingdom (and it is available on ITV X ) I thought I would talk about the main couple that the show is based around – The Hecks.

The marriage between Frankie and Mike is the core story of The Middle. It is an interesting story in the show how the love is there but is isn’t shows off all the time because Mike doesn’t like sharing feelings a lot. He said I love you on their wedding day and he feels that’s enough.

Throughout the show, Mike shows elements of affection to Frankie – it is so limited and that is what makes it really special when it does happen. There are some great things however throughout that show the imbalances in their life such as the way that mothers day and fathers day are dealt with, birthdays and valentines day.

It is different to other shows and that is what makes it unique.
