Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 22 – Del and Raquel,

Only Fools And Horses

I would say that Only Fools and Horses is definitely in my top five all time favourite comedies – it is just so good and so well written. I have watched it so many times and it never fails to be hilarious. There are many couples that I could of spoken about but I decided to chose Del and Raquel because they may end up later on but the stories they have are great and very funny.

The first episode when we meet Raquel is a really fun episode where they meet via a dating agency and both bend the truth to sound more appealing to one another, however it is a shame when Del messes it up at the end when he finds out she is a stripper and not a full time actress. It was a lovely surprise when she turns up again in the Jolly Boys outing episode. Initially you think she is just going to be a woman smitten with Del but the greatest thing about her is that she will always call him out and he cannot ‘con’ her.

There are some really fun moments like the Peckham water episode right through to Del finding out who her ex-husband is. The most adorable moment is when she goes into birth with Damian and Del makes a speech to the child looking to the stars and speaking to his late mum.

It is a relationship built on love and the marriage part is insignificant as when it plays out in the show it happens a lot later and not a huge thing. It really is a great show and when Raquel entered it made the show even more vibrant.
