Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 19 – Mindy and Danny,

The Mindy Project

I really like The Mindy Project, it was one of those shows that is really easy to get into. It is a show about being a doctor but also about relationships. Mindy and Danny relationship at the start is so much more of a friendship then anything else that when it starts to evolve (which is standard formats in the sitcom structure) it is interesting, exciting and fun.

It is really interesting when Danny starts to get feelings for Mindy as you see his so much softer side that you haven’t seen before which can be amusing (there is also a lot of dancing!)

When they do get together you see a great relationship and lots of fun along the way however it gets damaged because they start to create this version of Danny that becomes possessive and suppresses Mindy career progression. I hate this part and it feels like they have done it to end the relationship for series progression.

They do get back together again later on in the show and everything seems to be resolved as they have grown as people but I am not a fan of the whole season bit in between as it drags at times.

Saying that – when they first get together there are some really fun moments and that is what makes this couple fun to watch.
