Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 16 – Jess and Nick,

New Girl

I was late to the whole New Girl thing – instead I only binged watched it for the first time in October 2016 when I was in Cannes, France for a work trip and had an afternoon to myself but I wasn’t allowed to leave my apartment.

When Jess and Nick got together it wasn’t a huge surprise as it followed the dynamics of any sitcoms but no-one can argue that the first time Nick kisses jess is unexpected and one of the best kisses in a sitcom – it is fantastic.

I feel the Jess and Nick suffered from the How I Met Your Mother syndrome of Barney and Robin. It was broken off deliberately to make show run longer. I don’t like the whole of the show and when Megan Fox takes over the lead it feels a bit lost in the centre seasons.

Their first time as a couple is great but the show loses the spark when it comes to the last season and the jump to the future and it loses everything that was great which is a shame as he first time the bond, the relationship and the weirdness of their friendship is great.

A very bizarre couple that ends too fast but when they are together they were great.
