Every day this month we are taking a look at a variation of couples from different television shows. It is the month of ‘love’ so it in tradition we are looking at the world of relationships. There will be spoilers throughout so be warned!

Day 12 – Seth and Summer, The OC

At the end of 2024, a lot of the media outlets were reporting that people were having their Adam Brody moment due to the Television show Nobody Wants This which lead loads of people discovering Seth in The OC. Well, I was part of the original generation in the early noughties that had the ‘Adam Brody’ moment so thought would add this couple to the list.

I was never into these teen drama based shows when I was a teen. I couldn’t be bothered with Dawsons Creek, its adverts looked super cheesey, One Tree Hill looked too dramatic and Gilmore Girls I just wasn’t interested in. I only started watching The OC as I used to haveT4 on in the background when I got ready for college and it happened to be on at the same time.

Initially, I never really paid attention to the OC, it was only a background thing and then i saw the ‘Spiderman’ episode (or the end of it) and I paid attention.

Seth reminded me a lot of the type of guys that I liked around this time – awkward, geeky, good looking without really knowing or playing to it. When I did start to get into the OC i started to buy the boxsets as they were never on in order and a lot were missed out.

Seth and Summer is quite a weird coupling and at first it takes a while to grow on you but you end up really liking it. They are complete opposites but that is what ends up making them work so well.

There are some fun scenes with the, both and their opposites make them grow as a couple.
