The Travel Book – Dunbar, Scotland

I enjoy going on random day trips to different parts of the United Kingdom and I always love jumping on a bus and seeing somewhere new. The place that we are speaking about today I went to on a really warm day in the summer of 2024. It is a quaint little place and felt I needed to write about it.

Dunbar is a town in Scotland that is located in East Lothian in the South East of Scotland you can get there from Edinburgh, I travelled to the town by train and then left by bus, so it is pretty accessible. The place that I feel is really worth visiting is the coastline and the harbour.

The harbour area has a really rich history as it has been around since the late 1500’s and is the home to the Lifeboat station, which is the second oldest RNLI station in Scotland. The area is also the birth place of the explorer John Muir.

I really loved the coastline of Dunbar when I visited as it is so unusual – it is full of these wonderful areas that boats can park up as well as these natural rocks that are grand and unusual to see. They are the home to many birds but when you see the structures it is easy to see why.

I recommend going to visit the area of Dunbar as it is such a treat and a fascinating place.
