All year I have decided to keep a diary of tracks that I am enjoying so that maybe you can gain new ideas of tracks to listen to or even try out. So I thought what a great way to end the year and highlight some of the tracks throughout 2023 that I have enjoyed. Here are some of my favourite tracks from July to September.

5/7/24 – Joyride, Kesha
I have always been a fan of Kesha’s music and I instantly really liked this song because it was incredibly catchy and it is one of those songs that can really get stuck in your head. This really is a summer style of song and you can imagine listening to this whilst driving in the countryside. It is like many of Kesha’s tracks though you will either love it or hate it.
29/7/24 – My Only Friend feat Tom Delonge – Amy Shark
You do not see Tom Delonge feature very much on songs so I am always intrigued to see what the single is going to sound like. This is a really interesting track – you can hear influences from Tom but the song is very emotional and the lyrics of Amy’s song are quite interesting to listen to. It is definitely a quite serious song but it is also worth a listen. It feels like a song that Mark Hoppus would feature on but he did a song with her many years ago.
29/7/24 – No Direction, The Lathums
This single is really catchy, it has the rock style that you would expect from this band but also a punchy chorus that makes you want to tap your foot along. It is big, it is bold and a track that you will want to listen to. You can imagine that this is a track that will do really well at festivals.
8/8/24 – Bright Lights, The Killers
This is a lovely uplifting summer hit from the Killers, it has a great mix of instruments to create this really exciting sound. It is one of those songs that feels like it has been released so that they can tour it as there are parts of the track you can imagine being sung back to them at a concert.
27/08/24 – Die With A Smile, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars
It is always a good day when Lady Gaga releases new music, it can be an exciting one when she releases a collaboration with someone. This song is a love little tune and their voices blend together really well.
30/08/24 – Haven, Marianas Trench
Marianas Trench one of my favourite bands and whenever they release new music you know it’s going to be an exciting one. Their new album is very cinematic in it’s style and like all their albums the last song is the stand out and takes elements from all the other tracks and makes this wonderful musical marvel. Listen in headphones to get the real impact.
12/9/24 – The Emptiness Machine – Linkin’ Park
After the death of Chester Bennington it was very hard to see if there was going to be a future for Linkin’ Park as he was such a huge part of the band. To see them return with a female lead singer is fantastic and from the first listening of this song, she is a power house and I am really excited to see where it leads to.
28/9/24 – Audacious – Franz Ferdinand
It was a nice surprise to hear a Franz Ferdinand song again and it has a similar sound to their older stuff which again is refreshing to hear as I have not been a fan of their more modern stuff. This song is catchy and has a nice piano melody that intertwines throughout.
29/9/24 – The Joker, Lady Gaga
This is from the tie in album from the new film and it is a really catchy song and just like all songs, it allows it to elevate her musical talents as well. It is a really great song and it will be interesting to see where it plays in the film.
