Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
GINGERBREAD TOAST CRUNCH
It wouldn’t be America if there wasn’t a lot of themed products that are released as limited edition throughout the festive period. Today we are going to look at a Christmas cereal that was released last year.
In November 2023, it was announced that the company General Mills was releasing a twist on a cereal favourite – Toast Crunch. The most popular and original flavour Cinnamon Toast Crunch is sort of similar to our Cinnamon Grahams in the UK. For Christmas, they released a brand new limited edition Gingerbread Toast Crunch.
The version focusses solely on the holiday flavour of Gingerbread and mixes it with Cinnadust – a mix of cinnamon and sugar. Each container is 340 grams, each cup of cereal is 4.5 grams of fat and 170 calories. It could be purchased from Target for around $6.49.
When you look online, there are varied reviews of the cereal – a lot of them praise them as they are addictive whilst a few stated that the gingerbread flavour was not strong enough.
