Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we are looking at an autobiography by Lou Sanders.
What’s That Lady Doing? (2023)
Lou Sanders
Synopsis
This is a book about life – we’ve all got one, so it’s very relatable. It’s also about mistakes, family, growing up, shame and a few more mistakes.
This book contains tales of dead dads, pretend dead dads, getting barred from an osteopath’s, getting arrested, sex crimes and forgiveness.
I used to be addicted to boys and alcohol and then men and alcohol and then some other things. I was a little unhinged. I’ve got some great stories about when I was as mad as cheese and then some more stories about how I got less mad and more happy.
If that’s the sort of thing you’re after, please pick me up and take me to bed (that’s the book speaking so a little joke there).

Positive Points
If you are looking for a book that is a memoir that is an interesting read then this may be a book you will want to read. The book has a lot of stories that are incredibly revealing and allows Lou Sanders to take you on a journey that you would probably not expect. Some of the stories are shocking and may make you want to keep turning the pages
Negative Points
One thing a lot of these stories in the book may do is give you a different perspective on the comedian. There are quite a lot of stories about drug taking that are quite intense.
Overall Review
It is not a bad read but for me personally I felt that it was a book that whilst incredibly honest there was a lot of things that don’t really put Lou Sanders in a good light. The stories about the drugs I found were really intense and some of the stories were a bit crude that I wasn’t a fan either. If you read this book, be prepared for a bumpy journey.
