When you go to a new place, museums are usually on everyone’s mind to learn about the area by going to the local ones. When you go to Dundee it is an obvious option to head to the V&A as it is the most striking building but there is also another gallery you should visit and that is the McManus.

The McManus is located in the centre of town near the High School of Dundee and about a 15-20minute walk from the train station. It is an art gallery and museum which gives an indepth look at the lifestyle, culture and history of Dundee.
The museum is over two floors and there are eight galleries that cover everything from early settlements, the ship building industry and modern day Dundee.
The museum is free to explore and is open 10am-5pm Monday to Friday and 12:30pm-4:30pm on Sundays. There is also a cafe and a shop on site as well.
I really enjoyed visiting the McManus as I learnt so much about the area and gave me a great insight into the city like never before.
